Candied Yam

INGREDIENTS

5-6 sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into rounds (about ⅜ inch thick) ▢5-6 tablespoons butter ▢⅔ cup brown sugar ▢½ teaspoon cinnamon ▢½ teaspoon nutmeg ▢1 cup water ▢salt and pepper to taste

STEP-1

Add cubed sweet potatoes, butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and water to a large skillet and bring to a boil.

Turn heat down to low, cover, and simmer for 10-15 minutes without stirring.

Cook on low for an additional 4-6 minutes, stirring until potatoes are well coated.

Add salt and pepper to taste.
